B Braun is a world leader in the development and manufacture of intravenous therapy products. To conform to new legislation on needlestick safety, B Braun developed an IV catheter using passive technology (no user activation).

The goal of the education program was to raise awareness of passive technology as being superior to active, in particular when performing high-risk procedures, i.e., IVs. To achieve this goal, we brought together high profile experts in infection control along with the past –president of the ANA in support of passive IV technology. A highly successful program that been used extensively as a infection control in-service.
